The launch began with me giving an introduction of the volunteers, course and our mission. We also recognized the efforts of Mrs. Preeth, Mr. Iqbal and a few others who have contributed a lot in order to promote our initiative.
My father and mother also spoke a few words, but owing up to the tremendous energy level of the children, decided to start teaching immediately, and without any delay began our first session.
The Fundamentals of Programming class is also being run at the Chennai branch of Saggezza, where we have already crossed the halfway mark of six weeks. We are also undergoing talks with other firms to start 0Gravity in several centres across South India, where so many children are interested in this program.

We started the event by having Ms. Vaishali Kasture and Mr. Iqbal Sait, two highly esteemed industry leaders, light the lamp and address us. Their inspiring words motivated us to fulfil our full potential with no boundaries within the course and lives – let there be no obstacles to stop you.
Soon afterwards, I was asked to explain the project to the gathering. I gave the children and their parents an idea of 0Gravity, its mission and the format. I also described how the idea came about, during the two camps I had been a part of in America, Johns Hopkins and NYU. It is incredible that we all together have translated that concept into reality. I acknowledged my gratitude to all those who had helped me so far in the project with their guidance and support throughout the journey.
After the formal inauguration, the children and the faculty members moved to the room for the first lesson. The entire surrounding was very congenial, lab well-equipped and the volunteer members
friendly and cordial. And finally our first class of the HTML, CSS and Web Design batch had its take off!

As it turned out, the location was fantastic and highly surpassed my expectations. Saggezza was kind enough to offer us their meeting area, which satisfied every requirement to host the coding club. The setting was vast and spacious, which would allow us to host the numerous volunteers and students. The main idea, however which made the office the perfect venue, was the ability to give the students exposure to a corporate environment, which would also account for lots of collaboration between the students and teachers, resulting in quick and enjoyable learning. We were very happy to have established a partnership with Saggezza, an excellent venue to host the students: a factor which proves influential in building interest by giving them a glimpse on the environment where many learned computer scientists work and educating them on the applications of computers.

In our world, programming plays an essential role in linking us as people together and discovering things we could have never done before. It comes in so many useful ways, which makes it a key bonus in so many jobs worldwide. Usually, children begin programming at the age of 10, and take it on with some easy languages that build a foundation and hook children onto further pursuing of programming like Scratch. I have been very fortunate to learn some beneficial and exceptionally fun languages like Java and Python but throughout the course of my programming journey thus far, two questions always crop up in my mind which I am unable to answer: “What about the kids who are smart, but don’t have facilities to take on Computer Science?” and “How could ideas fly to bring technology to the next level by uniting all programmers globally together?”
At last, I have finally come up with a solution, “0Gravity”. The name signifies that you or anyone have no limits. We all can come together to overcome even the mightiest of forces and obstructions.
With “0Gravity”, we are trying to make a platform specifically designed for students who possess a very high level of intellect and aspiration for the best but due to a low socioeconomic status, haven’t yet been exposed to the absolute wonders of programming and computers. 0Gravity will provide basic computer lessons through some of the top dojos in India to help give a jumpstart to these children.
I sincerely believe that “0Gravity” would help raise the standard of professions for these children in India, even if it’s just a few. Everyone can come together to show his/her constructive and creative ideas to overcome the mightiest of stops, getting rid of troubles and limits and hence achieving “0Gravity”.
