We were honored to host Mr. Rohan Murthy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohan_Murty) in the closing ceremony of our all girls coding camp in Bengaluru. This coding camp brought together 25 girls from underprivileged families or foster homes in a three months workshop on HTML, Web Design and JavaScript. The girls learnt how to build Websites and many created live sites for their foster homes and schools.

Mr. Rohan Murthy is a junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows and the founder of the Murty Classical Library of India. He is the son of N. R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys. He is currently CEO and Founder of Sorocco.

Mr. Murthy interacted with the children, sharing his perspectives on the impact women have made in the computing world for decades. He engaged with the children on the topics they learnt during the camps, awarding them certificates from 0Gravity on the completion of their camps.

For me, personally, it was a matter of deep and sincere happiness to see the children do so well during the camp. Mr. Murthy’s talk on the impact of women in computing was very inspiring and revealing. I wish to continue to partner with other foster homes and girls schools to create more opportunities as we broaden 0Gravity program across the country.
